The January 2002 Macworld is going to be the turning point for OS X, here’s why. Steve is going to make a big announcent, just what I don’t know, but it should be exciting. G5s, perhaps? Expect many of the remainng key applicationss to be released/annnounced for OS X (Dreamweaver, Fireworks, Photoshop) at this show. Office X has been shipping for a while and is a welcome addition to my laptop. Final Cut Pro is now OS X ready, so now almost all of Apple’s own apps are drinking the proverbial Kool Aid (I think Hypercard users are still going to be out of luck though). Illustrator 10 is out and while it’s at times agonizingly slow and begging for a .01 upgrade, the additional features and carbonization are very welcome. Palm just released the Desktop 4.0 OS X beta, this one of the last hurdles for my mobile computing needs (ie. not having to run classic apps on my pismo). Userland will release an OS X version of Radio Userland in January, this is significant in that the onyl way I can add entries to this blog is though a hacked together .root file that Frankensteins a Radio.root and Frontier.root ODB files with a Fronter 7.0.1 OS X application (with an expired license no less) . Frontier now runs great in OS X and I expect the same from Radio. The addition of static site rendering to Radio make’s it a no-brainer for any web developer.
Also you can expect a lot of OS X music apps announced at Winter NAMM this January.

Network Solutions, uh I mean Verisign - what can I say about these guys that hasn’t already been said. I set up a spiffy PHP/MySQL site for my buddy Jim’s Hockey Bag company and the clowns over at Netsol still haven’t changed the DNS servers to the new ISP. We’re talking more than 3 months of online forms and phonce calls here. So if you were to try to go to hartsports.com, you’ll get a server could not be found error. That can’t be good for business.
Dotster however, now these guys have their act together. We just grabbed the domain milestonemusic.net and moved them to an ISP of our choice at our leisure with no problems at all.
