AI 10.0.1 & Limewire 2.3.1 Updates

Elsewhere in updateland, Adobe re-release the Illustrator 10.0.1 update due to install/update problems many users were having and Limewire released version 2.3.1 of their file swapping/sharing tool.

Palm Desktop 4.0 is out

Palm Desktop software 4.0 for Mac is out as a carbon application (OS 9 and OS X). Hopefully the kinks I experienced with the beta have been worked out. I got hosed at least 3 times using the pre-release. Remember to always keep backups.

Ouch, my knee

I’ve been having intermitant knee pain for a while now, an intense sharp stabbing pain that comes and goes. It started bothering me in the beginning of the year with a pain occurance every other week. The frequency of the pain then rampped up to once a week, twice a week, every other day. At that point I decided it’s time to see a doctor. The frequency was several times a day on Monday when I saw my orthopedist and got an x-ray that showed no irregularities. My MRI yesyterday was uneventful. Today the pain is more intense and more frequent than ever. I won’t get my MRI results back until Monday.

Apple posts iPod Applescripts

Apple posted some iPod Applescripts for working with vCards in Entourage and OS X’s address book.

I find it much easier to export my entire Palm Desktop address book as a single vCard file, then just drop that file into my contacts folder on my iPod.

2,000 Songs in Your Pocket

One thing I missed from yesterdays Apple announcements was the 10GB iPod. "2,000 Songs in Your Pocket" is the new mantra.

iPod 1.1 Update!

The iPod update (1.1) is amazing. I love the scrub wheel. EQ is a also nice addation. Perhaps the coolest feature, I droped a single 1062 contact vCard (freshly exported all-at-once from Palm Deskop 4.0 beta for OS X) into the contacts folder of my ‘Pod and they all showed up—without a hitch, even the attached notes. Although with an address book that size it does take a few seconds to “load up”.
