Umax: no OS X commitment for many products [The Macintosh News Network]
This shouldn’t surprise anyone, I’ve got a UMAX scanner, and yes it would be nice for OS X support, but I cant complaint too much, it cost $15.

Interestingly enough, I had done the math on this a few years back and handed it off to my CEO. (Actualy it was a spreadsheet, for some reason CEOs like when you hand them stuff that was done in a spread sheet, perhaps it makes them think the money they send to Redmund evey year is being well spent.)
The practice of “warchalking” hits the news. Wi-Fi users take cue from hobos. In London, techies are “warchalking,” drawing a chalk symbol to indicate the presence of a wireless networking node—much like people once signaled each other about a good meal spot.
