Macromedia introduced Contribute today. I saw a demo of Contribute at Meet The makers last week and thought it was worth a closer look, especially if your web development involves samaritan sites. So I dowloaded the technology preview and gave it a whirl — in Virtual PC. That’s right, it’s a Windows only app right now, according to the Contribute FAQ Mac OS X users can expect a version sometime in 2003.
What did I think of the Tech Preview? I thought it played rather nice (especially for a Windows app). I’ve set up a client to edit parts of their own site and they’re ready to drop the C-Note when it’s actually released in December. For a preview of version one software, I’ll give it a strong thumbs up.
