Apple’s free iLife applications: iPhoto 2 and iMovie 3.0.1 are now available for download. Does anyone else find it interseting that iMovie 3 is already at a .01 version in its initial release?

I’m happy to report that JAVA MAN in Hermosa Beach offers WiFi Access. As I compose this post, I’ve discovered Hermosa has a local collaborative wireless network called hermosawave — bonus.
NAMM, what can I say, the show physically kicks my ass every year. But getting to hang with old friends and meet new ones in this enviornment is one of my favorite things to do each year.
This being my 17th or 18th show, makes me kinda jaded as far as what I expect to see at the show floor, but every once in a while something happens that blows me away. This year we had Brent Carter (a great vocalist) demoing mics in a specially made vocal booth. At 4:00 on the last day of the show, Stevie Wonder was walking the show floor (he does this quite often), but this year one of his longtime friends asked him if he’d like to sing in Samson’s vocal booth an listen to our new mics. He accepted and for 20 minutes there was pure magic at the booth. Every headphone (32 in all) was being used and at that moment there were more faces pressed against the vocal room glass than we had had all weekend combined. Stevie was simply amazing.

If you’ve got a Microtech Cameramate or ZiO and have been looking for OS X Jaguar drivers, Microtech’s site is not the place to look. It looks like a company called Dazzle has taken over the ZiO line of products and is continuing to develop drivers for them. Fortunately the ZiO Drivers on this page also work for USB CameraMate. I’ve tested and confirmed functionality with a 128MB CompactFlash card in OS X 10.2.3.
Somehow I missed this announcement from Macworld, but Griffin’s iTrip has to bee the coolest FM transmitter for the ‘pod out there. Notice the firewire connector? That’s right it gets its power right from the iPods batterty. It also allows you to power/charge the iPod while you’re using it (I’ll admit, I can’t figure out how this is going to work) by rotating it. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for the spring to get a look at it.
