WOW, just read this.
SF Chronicle: CD settlement money going begging so far. According to the article, if you bought a CD, cassette tape, or vinyl record between 1995 and 2000 at a retail store, you are eligible for a piece of the settlement that BMG, EMI, Warner, Sony, and Universal paid for price fixing. Also according to the article, only about 30,000 people have filed for their share of the settlement so far. You can file a claim online at www.musiccdsettlement.com.
Sadly, the maximum amount of the settlement is $20 (per person, not per CD purchased), or I’d be a rich man. [Jarrett House North]
Safari is a blast. For a beta web browser it’s very nice. Running a 3 browser system (MSIE, Chimera and Safari) can get a bit out of hand, you sometimes never know what app clicking on a link will launch.
Check out the Safari Applescripts (the Display Thumb-Linked Images script looks interesting, but I can’t seem to make it work — even on Apple’s example page)Safari Enhancer (An application for enabling several hidden features of the Safari webbrowser beta).
OS X users can check their software update panel for a Quicktime 6.1 update.
Todays Keynote webcast went glitch free for me. Unfortunately I was in the midst of deadline central while it was occuring so my thoughts at this point are rough.
- iLife - is it $50 or free downloads or both? Does iDVD work with 3rd party DVD burners, it should if they’re charging for it. Where is thenew iTunes 3 with Rendevous?
- Keynote - I like this app, I have to have it. I will have it (hopefully) by Thursday.
- more later
Apple has posted iCal 1.0.2 and iSync1.0 to their servers.

I’m giving iPulse a whirl as well. The 89 in the center screen grab shows that the 400MHz pismo’s CPU is being heavily taxed these days 89% at the time of this screenshot.
Thinksecret’s List of MWSF announcements provides food for thought. The Pay-For iApps does not make me happy. But the thought of an updated iPod brings my utter joy (depending on when I can get my hands on one). Steve said that iTunes rendevous support would be coming in January, so I’ll expect he’ll announce that tomorrow, along with a bunch of other techno improvemnets to the OS and surrounding apps.
