Soybo Looks very interesting…

Soybo looks like it’s work a look. I’m going to wait however. I’ve got too many little projects running right now to begin another.

iPod Software 1.2.6 Update is available

iPod Software 1.2.6 provides improved battery management which solves a problem that may appear to shorten your iPod’s battery life.

Once again, Apple has chosen what I think is an awkward way of distribution the iPod update. They provide a link to download a disk image which when mounted presents you with an installer package "iPod126.pkg". When run this installer installs the actual iPod Software 1.2.6 Updater inside an eponymuously named folder which is inside your utilities folder. You then must run this updater to send the new firmware to your iPod. Not very intuitive, I wouldn’t expect my mom to be able to do it without a few setbacks.

Al Gore now on Apple’s Board of Directors

Apple announced the election today of former vice-president Al Gore to the company’s board of directors:

“Al brings an incredible wealth of knowledge and wisdom to Apple from having helped run the largest organization in the world—the United States government - as a Congressman, Senator and our 45th Vice President. Al is also an avid Mac user and does his own video editing in Final Cut Pro,” said Steve Jobs, Apple’s CEO. “Al is going to be a terrific Director and we’re excited and honored that he has chosen Apple as his first private sector board to serve on.” [via Macintouch]

No, this isn’t an eary April fools joke, this is for real. Personally Al strikes me as more of a PC/Windows guy, but hey. (I know that George W. had a Wall Street Powerbook in in Gouvernor’s office.) My favorite Al Gore joke (courtesy of Dennis Miller) "Al Gore’s vanity license plate is a random series of letters and numbers". Go Al!

Back up

Due to technical difficulties well within my control (but not within my available time to correct) this blog was down for about two weeks. That didn’t prevent me from posting though. (Blogging in a vaccum?) Fell free to "catch up" with the two weeks of posts that have only been "published" this morning.

Fark?

I have no idea how long Fark has been around (just checked - since ‘99), but after discovering it this weekend I’m totally hooked on the Photoshop fakes.
