According to Gareth, Glashaus Publishing is going into liquidation (at least its parent company is). This is bad news for the web developer as they were a great source of books dedicated to that field (poorly printed screenshots aside). Their two Dreamweaver MX/PHP Books (1, 2) are a constant source of reference for me.

Do you have folders on you OS X dock? If you’re like me (my dock has Applications, Home and Music folders), you use those folders to deposit files and folders quickly and (somewhat) easily. The problem? When dragging anything near the dock the dock procedes to "make room for" the stuff you dragging because it thinks you want them on the dock. A touch of the command key while your dragging will prevent this. Try it yourself. This also prevent the "oops, I accidently dragged 32 things to the dock instead of into the dock’d folder and now I’ve got to remove them from the dock one by one" syndrome.
When I needed a hard drive icon for the new Dual 1GHz G4 naturally the first place I looked was the Icon Factory. When nothing turned up there (I need an OS9 Icon, Icon Factoy is more oriented towards X icons these days) or at Pixture Studio a Google Search pointed me to several possible suppliers. Only the Pixel Bureau however was able to provide me with just what I needed.

In Las Vegas taxi lines can be very long sometimes. There was a 20 minute line outside the Monte Carlo and I needed to get to the Ariport. The solution? Call a bell person. I had a Bellman get my bag and jacket, normally I wouldn’t need to do this (I try to travel light on short trips), but I wanted to relax anyway. The bellman proceeeded to bring my bags to the front of the taxi line and then whisper something into the doorman/taxi hailer’s ear. When the next cab arrived, the bellman loaded my bags into the trunk and instructed the driver which terminal I was going to. He completely bypassed the taxi line.
