Don’t worry, we’ll fix it in the mix!

Never leave something on top of your car. I know your “only going to leave it there for one minute” and “that would never happen again”. But trust me, it’s a bad idea
In an effort to clean-up my living space I got together ten years worth of old paperwork and readied it for the trash. The problem? I didn’t want to put old bank and utility records in the trash in an "unencrypted" form. I wen’t out and bought myself what anyone who’s trying to avoid identy theft buys, a paper shreder. A $12.99 special that takes up to nine pages at once. Needless to say, I did a several small shreading sessions over the corse of a week rather than go "all day" to get it done at one Fawn Hall inspired sitting.
Well, tonight I finished. Actually I only thought I finished, but then I found one more pile of old receipts and ATM slips in the corner. I was gonna blindly chuck them into the machine’s mouth as fast as possible, but I figured I’d give a few of the slips a quick look before I sent them south. Lucky me, a quick sift through the dead-tree rubble yielded the following: 1) A crisp 1995 Two Dollar Bill, 2) a check dated Nov. 1, 1999 (that expired after 120 days) from my insurance company for the whopping sum of $2.20, and 3) an American Express Gift Cheque for $25 (this time with no expiration date). I think of this last small discovery as a touch of monetary karma for taking care of my old paper the "correct" way.
Are dogs aware of their own appearance? Every dog I’ve put in front of a mirror showed no interest in their own reflection. Do domesticated dogs think they’re human in appearance? Certainly they know what other dogs look like. Do dogs think they’re beter than other dogs that "look like" dogs.
Hint of the day: When ripping CDs to mp3, it’s almost always good idea to give the business side of the plastic platter a good wipe. Smudges can cause the data to be read incorrectly which may turn into crackles, chirps and other non musical artifacts in the resulting mp3 files. One more thing, CDs are read from the inside out (center to edge) so the data you’re trying to extract is in the middle of the disc — concentrate on cleaining this area of the CD.
The blackout in Atlantic Beach is over. The soft glow of my powerbook’s LCD was enough to illuminate the room while I lit candles and contemplated weather to use the remaining battery power to watch a DVD. Thankfully it only lasted a half hour. How often we forget how much we rely on electricity.
A quick note to the driver in front of me today who got pulled over.
You’re supposed to stop when those long yellow things with children on them have their red lights flashing — no matter which side of the street you’re on.
